Percent stenosis is a weak predictor of Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) in intermediate coronary lesions: insights from a large french multicenter registry

E. Van Belle (Hospital Regional University of Lille - Cardiological Hospital, Lille /France), T. Cuisset (AP-HM - Hospital La Timone, Marseille /France), G. Rioufol (University Hospital of Lyon, Lyon /France), C. Pouillot (Clinique Sainte Clotilde, St Denis de la Réunion /France), E. Teiger (Hopital Henri Mondor, Créteil /France), D. Bretelle (Hospital Center of Valence, Valence /France), P. Dupouy (Private Hospital of Antony, Antony /France)

European Heart Journal ( 2011 ) 32 ( Abstract Supplement ), 856

It has previously been shown that fractional flow reserve (FFR) is inversely related to the degree of coronary stenosis. There is however no report of of the value of the degree of coronary stenosis as a predictor of FFR respective to other lesion's and patient's characteristics.

Validation of the CHA2DS2-VASc score for stroke and thromboembolism risk stratification in patients with atrial fibrillation in a community based cohort study: The LVAF project

L. Fauchier (Tours Regional University Hospital, Hospital Trousseau, Tours /France), J.B. Olesen (City Hospital, Centre for Cardiovascular Sciences, Birmingham /United Kingdom), S. Taillandier (Tours Regional University Hospital, Hospital Trousseau, Tours /France), I. Lagrenade (Tours Regional University Hospital, Hospital Trousseau, Tours /France), C. Rauzy (Tours Regional University Hospital, Hospital Trousseau, Tours /France), D. Babuty (Tours Regional University Hospital, Hospital Trousseau, Tours /France), G.Y.L. Lip (City Hospital, Centre for Cardiovascular Sciences, Birmingham /United Kingdom)

European Heart Journal ( 2011 ) 32 ( Abstract Supplement ), 466

The CHA2DS2-VASc score has been proposed for stroke risk stratification in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). It has been shown to be better than CHADS2 at identifying patients at "truly low risk" of stroke, and categorises only a small proportion into the intermediate risk category. An appropriate validation cohort for this scheme would require a large "real world" cohort of patients with AF.
